Attorney Alan T. Fister graduated from Vanderbilt University, with honors. He then attended Vanderbilt Law School, having graduated in 1983. Mr. Fister became a member of the Georgia Bar in 1983, practicing in Atlanta, GA. In 1984, Mr. Fister returned to Nashville and became a member of the Tennessee Bar. Mr. Fister has been admitted to practice before the state courts of Georgia and Tennessee. Furthermore, Mr. Fister has been admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee and the United States Court of Appeals for the 6th Circuit.

Mr. Fister’s practice is primarily involved with commercial transactions and litigation. Mr. Fister represents new business interests, including closely held companies. Mr. Fister enjoys his business formation practice, and he enjoys representing businesses in related transactions, such as leasing, financing, and employment. Mr. Fister is an approved title agent and handles commercial real estate closings. Mr. Fister also drafts wills, advanced care directives, and powers of attorney. Mr. Fister has extensive experience in drafting commercial leases, business formation documents, employment agreements, and related company documents.

Much of Mr. Fister’s practice involves litigating commercial disputes. Many of the controversies involve employment issues, real estate issues, boundary line disputes, probate matters, conservatorship proceedings, equitable subrogation, covenants not to compete, and landlord tenant disputes. Mr. Fister is a trial lawyer who understands practical business. Mr. Fister combines business acumen with courtroom experience to assure his clients a competent advocate through every step of litigation.
